Job Title: Science Support Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to support our science team in providing administrative assistance. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing apparatus, materials, and equipment for science lessons, as well as maintaining the science room's inventory and ensuring the safety of students during lab work.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare necessary apparatus, materials, and equipment for science lessons;
  2. Maintain the science room's inventory, including updating lists and condemning items that are not in working condition;
  3. Assist teachers in supervising students during lab work and ensure their safety;
  4. Collate materials for purchase and liaise with teachers to procure necessary items;
  5. Help teachers with buying perishable items for science experiments;
  6. Support teachers in carrying out science events and assist with registration and form collection if required;
  7. Contribute to school safety management measures by managing student crowd control at arrival and dismissal time;
  8. Supervise students during unstructured playtime during recess.
Requirements
  • A minimum of one year's experience working in a similar role in a primary school;
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
Benefits

The selected candidate will have a 11-month contract, Monday to Thursday (6:45am - 3:45pm), Friday (6:45am - 3:15pm). Services are not required on Saturdays, Sundays, or gazetted public holidays. EA License Number: 96C4864.
