Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Linux Support Engineer to join our team.

  • Provide technical support for employees via telephone, email, and web channels, ensuring timely responses to meet business objectives.
  • Act as an internal customer advocate, keeping stakeholders informed and updated in a timely manner to maintain trust and confidence.
  • Ensure each support case is handled according to our Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the highest possible customer satisfaction, meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Contribute new knowledge base articles and maintain existing ones, providing valuable insights and solutions for future reference.
  • Draft and distribute technical notices for internal and external communication, promoting awareness and understanding of products and services.
  • Prioritize work to accomplish the most important and urgent tasks first, focusing on critical issues that require immediate attention.
  • Stay up-to-date with products and services, continuously learning and growing to stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Understand the Ubuntu development process to set accurate expectations with customers regarding timeline for fixes and resolutions.
  • Maintain regular communication and information exchange with the team, locally and remotely, fostering collaboration and cooperation.
  • Identify and suggest opportunities to improve service delivery, proposing innovative solutions and best practices to enhance customer experience.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess exceptional academic credentials from high school and university, demonstrating a strong foundation in technical subjects.

  • Hold an undergraduate degree in a technical field or have a compelling narrative about your chosen path, showcasing transferable skills and relevant experience.
  • Be confident in expressing yourself, sharing feedback, and exchanging ideas without hesitation, promoting open communication and collaboration.
  • Show a track record of consistently delivering outstanding results, exceeding expectations, and making a positive impact.
  • Have hands-on experience with Linux troubleshooting, including collecting logs and stack traces, fine-tuning configuration files, and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Demonstrate knowledge or basic hands-on experience with two or more of the following areas: Linux server administration, programming fundamentals, networking, virtualization/cloud computing concepts.
  • Be able to learn quickly, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and handle the pressure of a customer-facing role.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills in English, enabling effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
