Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and qualified instructor to teach horse riding lessons in a safe, progressive, and enjoyable manner for all levels of riders.

The successful candidate will have the ability to teach beginner courses up to novice levels and prepare students for monthly competitions. They will also assist students on show days and encourage them to become more involved in the riding section through Pony Club, additional lessons, leases, and competing at shows.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining rider lists and colour levels, conducting rider assessments, teaching beginner courses, participating in clinics to develop riding and teaching skills, and progressing qualifications through the BHS course program up to Stage 3 SM.

In addition, they will report issues regarding horse behavior or welfare, attend weekly department meetings, and teach regular or ad-hoc lessons outside of normal teaching hours with overtime compensation.

The role also involves assisting with SPC competitions, including arena setup, arena tasks, and stewarding. The successful candidate will also be responsible for stable management, daily checks of riding section stables and horses, submitting weekly reports, ordering feed and bedding requirements, training and supporting grooms, completing monthly reports of tack and equipment condition, and maintaining an inventory of tack in use and in-store.
