Lead Inspection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Inspection Specialist to join our team in the Industry Service Business Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading inspections and assessments on petrochemical and chemical plants pipelines for refineries, storage tanks, and offshore platforms.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of inspectors to conduct non-destructive testing and inspection work on storage tanks, pressure vessels, and pipelines for various industrial sectors.
  • Developing testing methodologies and procedures for ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, penetrant testing, magnetic flux leakage, visual testing, leak testing, radiographic film interpretation, and long-range ultrasonic testing (guided wave testing).
  • Providing NDT Level 3 services and developing, training, and qualifying in-house inspectors in respective methods (UT, MT, PT, RT, VT, ECT).
  • Oversight of inspection of various equipment such as pressure vessels, above-ground storage tanks, and structural components.
  • Representing the division as Quality Management Representative (QMR) and participating in quality management meetings and audits involving 17020, SAC SINGLAS, and ISO standards.
  • Providing internal training and technical guidance for other inspectors.
  • Maintaining up-to-date personal certification.
  • Developing and approving NDT procedures, written practices, and NDT techniques that comply with clients' requirements.
  • Auditing site works and ensuring adequate competency development among team members.

The ideal candidate will have a degree holder with at least 5 years of inspection experience in oil/petrochemical industries and relevant API certificates (API570 or API510). Alternatively, they may have a minimum of ten years inspection experience in oil/petrochemical industries. Key qualifications include:

  • Ability to perform QA of all piping/equipment repair work and liaise with contractor, maintenance, and operation personnel.
  • Capacity to interpret NDT (radiography, UT, PT, MPI) results.
  • Ability to review working procedures and ITPs.
  • Familiarity with pressure equipment and piping manufacturing codes like ASME and API, as well as welding processes.
  • Knowledge of materials and pipes/equipment used in refineries and their damage mechanisms.
