
Senior Application Support Specialist

This role is responsible for ensuring smooth execution of daily and monthly processes through application support and monitoring services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application support, development, and monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos, Qokpit, Elastic, Splunk, and Datadog.
Main Responsibilities- Application Monitoring & Support: Define, implement, and manage application monitoring in coordination with build teams to ensure smooth execution of daily and monthly processes.
- Incident & Request Management: Provide Level 1 and 2 support to business users, manage incident resolution and user requests.
- Root Cause Analysis & Problem Management: Drive problem management efforts, identify root causes of incidents, and work with build teams to implement long-term solutions and preventive measures.
- Performance Reporting: Track and report application KPIs weekly and monthly, aiming to optimize operational efficiency and performance.
- Functional & Technical User Support: Provide global user support on system functionality such as Volume Credit, Markup calculations, STP issues, and system administration.
- Continuous Improvement & Documentation: Collaborate with development teams to implement monitoring as code, and maintain application knowledge bases and best practices documentation.
- Minimum 8 years in application support and/or development, preferably within the financial or banking sector, with interest in Capital Markets (FX, fixed income, derivatives, equities).
- Strong skills in SQL, Unix/Linux scripting, and familiarity with Java, Python, and Windows/Unix commands; knowledge of XML, PL/SQL, MQ, CFT, and Control-M is a plus.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as ITRS Geneos, Qokpit, Elastic, Splunk, and Datadog.
- Understanding of broker and clearing platforms (e.g. Tradeweb, Murex, DTCC, LCH/JSCC) and financial market applications like Bloomberg and Reuters.
- Skilled in SLA/KPI management, incident escalation, risk analysis, and client communication under pressure and tight deadlines.
