As a senior engineer in building management, you will oversee the performance of outsourced maintenance service providers for civil and building systems within hospitals. This includes ensuring functionality and serviceability at all times.
The role also involves auditing and monitoring service standards rendered by specialist vendors and outsourced maintenance service providers.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead accountability within the site building trade team by setting clear expectations, deliverables, and performance standards.
- Manage contracts end-to-end— from drafting and negotiation to monitoring performance, handling disputes, and maintaining documentation.
- Oversee vendor performance, ensuring timely service delivery and compliance with key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Assist in daily operations, including system breakdown investigations, audits, inspections, and reviewing maintenance programs.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and work instructions in line with industry best practices and operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal regulations, procurement, and audit standards across all contract and operational activities.
- Conduct audits and performance reviews of vendors to assess maintenance effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Lead root cause investigations following system failures and support recovery and mitigation planning.
- Plan system upgrades and replacements before end-of-life and participate in infrastructure project reviews and commissioning.
- Train and develop team members, while actively participating in knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
- Minimum three years of relevant experience in managing civil and building services and facilities operation as well as improvement projects.
- Certificate in fire safety manager/officer or relevant fire safety experiences are advantageous.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Able to perform under tight deadlines and fast-paced environments.
