To provide expert advice to senior managers within a sub-area of Financial Systems and Control (FSC) and related key activities; to ensure compliance with external and internal accounting reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner.

Novartis has established the SOX internal control system to provide reasonable assurance to the Group's management and Board of Directors regarding the reliability of financial reporting and the preparation of its financial statements.

The Senior Consultant is a member of a global team of IT assurance experts responsible for designing and assessing the efficiency of IT Application Controls across the company's IT landscape.

This role involves interacting with senior stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Playing a crucial role as an experienced ERP assurance professional
  • Participating in a global team of IT Application Controls experts
  • Providing assurance in the areas of ERP systems
  • Identifying process and IT controls improvement opportunities and driving implementation
  • Testing IT application controls such as Reports, Interfaces, Fully Automated Controls, etc., to ensure SOX compliance and reliability
  • Participating in IT risk assessments
  • Collaborating with IT Application Owners and Business Process Owners to identify SOX-relevant IT Applications and Infrastructures
  • Supporting the identification and testing of IT application controls during the implementation of a new ERP system or upgrades
  • Advising on ITACs structure by understanding end-to-end processes, IT environment, and data context to determine the right mix of preventative and detective controls based on automation and data analytics
  • Collaborating with teams globally

Essential Requirements:

  • University degree in economics, business informatics, or computer science with a demonstrated track record in IT Audit or Internal Controls
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in auditing ERP systems, IT environments, and automated business process controls
  • Experience in performing IT audit or review engagements, including a solid understanding of external audit approaches, concepts, and methodology
  • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate closely with technical and business contacts
  • Entrepreneurial and structured attitude, result-oriented, and collaborative approach to work
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and business writing skills in English
