About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Deputy Director to join our team at co11ab, a BioMedtech incubator located at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The successful candidate will assist the Executive Director in delivering the day-to-day operations of co11ab and oversee the Administration Team to execute the Business Development function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage high-quality members of the biomedical start-up ecosystem to join co11ab.
  • Drive the development of member businesses by helping them expand their network, build management and advisory teams, attract venture funding, and form collaborations.
  • Execute the Business Development function within the Administration Team, providing co11ab with a steady stream of high-quality fledgling ventures.
  • Assist the Executive Director in start-up/project selection, financing, and monitoring.
  • Supervise co11ab's Administration Team in executing their assignments.

Requirements

  • PhD in life sciences, physical sciences, or engineering with relevant experience, or Bachelors' degree in entrepreneurship, business, or marketing.
  • Deep understanding of biomedical innovation cycles and entrepreneurship.
  • Understanding of translational development of biomedical assets, including therapeutics, diagnostics, and medical devices.
  • Familiarity with Singapore's biomedical start-up ecosystem.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a biomedical startup, technology transfer, venture building, or innovation management.
  • Real-world entrepreneurial experience in starting companies, raising capital, operating businesses, managing IP, business development, project management, and M&A.
  • Demonstrable team management skills with a strong track record of building and leading effective teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders of varied backgrounds.
  • Mission-oriented and team player.
  • Strong EQ with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
