Job Title:
Ship Cost Control SpecialistThis role involves providing expertise in ship repair and conversion projects. Key responsibilities include financial analysis, cost estimation, project claims validation, and preparation of financial reports.
Responsibilities:
- Financial tasks and analysis for ship conversion profit centers and legal entities
- Issuing customer invoices and interacting with customers and vendors
- Applying accounting principles to prepare and analyze financial information
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and internal controls
- Reviewing monthly profit and loss statements and account analysis
- Preparing monthly profit and loss statements and account analysis for assigned vessel conversions
- Reviewing monthly financial results with assigned rig teams and providing variance memos/schedules
- Managing day-to-day operations in accordance with established policies, objectives, and budgets
- Participating in budgeting and forecasting processes
- Reviewing vendor invoices for appropriate documentation and account coding
- Classifying special items, authorizing financial expenditures, and reviewing transaction records
- Interacting with various departments within the organization and multiple levels of management
- Maintaining accurate and thorough files and documentation
- Determining priorities in preparing multiple projects on a timely basis
- Participating in other assigned duties, responsibilities, and special projects
- Communicating externally with auditors, customers, and vendors to ensure transactions are recorded correctly
- Verifying transactions and recording them correctly
