Job Description

This role is pivotal in shaping the future of a leading firm. As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer within Electronic Trading Service, you will lead your team, demonstrate expertise across multiple domains, and provide technical guidance to colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive site reliability culture and practices throughout the team.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance application and platform reliability using data-driven analytics.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to establish service level objectives and error budgets with customers.
  • Demonstrate high-level technical expertise and identify technology-related bottlenecks.
  • Act as primary contact during major incidents for the application and resolve issues quickly.
  • Document knowledge via internal forums and communities of practice.
  • Assist with monitoring for alerts specific to Electronic Trading.
  • Interface with global exchanges, brokers, and technology vendors on infrastructure products.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Formal training or certification in infrastructure disciplines concepts and 8+ years applied experience.
  • Possess deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering, such as hardware, networking terminology, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments.
  • Develop network solutions tailored to electronic trading environments, ensuring low latency and high reliability.
  • Monitor network performance continuously and troubleshoot issues.
  • Respond promptly to network incidents and outages, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls.
  • Design, configure, and manage load balancers to ensure efficient distribution of network traffic.
  • Coordinate with Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, and F5 support teams for troubleshooting and hardware replacements.
  • Optimize network configurations to reduce latency and improve throughput.
  • Possess deep knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and automation/scripting languages.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understand complex network design, implementation, and maintenance, managing network environments to ensure reliability, performance, and security.
  • Configure and manage Cisco routers and switches with proficiency.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Arista's EOS and experience with Arista's low-latency switching solutions.
  • Comprehend in-depth network protocols such as BGP, FHRP, and multicast.
  • Utilize network automation tools and scripting languages to automate network tasks and configurations.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of basic and advanced concepts in network system architecture, routing protocols, IP packet analysis, and latency monitoring.
