Exterior Painter Role

This role involves working with a team to ensure the highest quality finish on exterior surfaces. As an experienced painter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces by scraping, sanding, power washing, or chemical cleaning.

A key aspect of this job is applying primer, paint, waterproofing, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray guns. You will also perform patching or minor surface repairs before painting and mix and match paint colors to ensure consistency and desired finish.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of scaffolding and safety protocols, including setting up scaffolding, ladders, or swing stages safely to reach high areas and protecting non-paintable surfaces with masking tape, coverings, or drop cloths.

You will work closely with the project manager to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare exterior surfaces by scraping, sanding, power washing, or chemical cleaning
  • Apply primer, paint, waterproofing, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray guns
  • Perform patching or minor surface repairs before painting
  • Mix and match paint colors to ensure consistency and desired finish
  • Safely set up scaffolding, ladders, or swing stages to reach high areas
  • Protect non-paintable surfaces with masking tape, coverings, or drop cloths
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in exterior or industrial painting
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with different types of outdoor paints, waterproofing materials, and weather-resistant coatings
  • Physical Demands: Physically fit, comfortable with working at heights or on scaffolding
  • Tools and Techniques: Good knowledge of painting tools and techniques
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and ability to meet finishing quality standards
  • Safety Procedures: Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures
  • Working Conditions: Ability to work under sun for long hours
