Culinary Operations Director Job Description

Overview:

The Culinary Operations Director will lead our kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role involves managing kitchen staff, maintaining inventory, and implementing efficient systems for smooth service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and motivate kitchen staff to achieve exceptional culinary results.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, minimizing waste and optimizing stock levels.
  • Develop seasonal menus that meet customer expectations and business needs.
  • Maintain organized kitchen systems, ensuring efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Train and mentor staff to maintain high culinary standards.
  • Forecast staffing needs, balancing labor costs with operational requirements.
  • Oversee procurement, storage, and handling of food products.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or Science, Business, or relevant fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a chef.
  • Completed WSQ Basic Food Hygiene Course – Food Safety Course Levels 1 and 2.
  • Proven kitchen management ability.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Tenacious learning capabilities and logical analytical problem-solving skills.
