Underwriting Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriter to drive business growth and maintain profitable renewal accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite insurance products and grow the portfolio.
  • Maintain profitable renewal accounts and assist in achieving financial goals and business strategies.
  • Drive new business through active prospecting, broker engagement, cross-selling, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Develop a team culture and instill a proactive attitude across the organization.
  • Lead the team and value proposition in external engagements with broker partners and clients.
  • Engage externally with key clients, participate in client stewardship meetings, roadshows, and other events.
  • Secure additional information where necessary and analyze all pertinent data to determine risk acceptability.
  • Review endorsements on existing policies and evaluate, accept, reject, or modify risks within established underwriting guidelines.

As an Underwriter, you will have the opportunity to develop a multiline view of key clients' relationships and broaden your knowledge from Property products to all solutions available.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Business or relevant Insurance qualifications.
  • Minimum 5 years' underwriting experience or equivalent industry experience.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge across Property products.
  • Analytical skills and ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, brokers, agents, and personnel.
