Palliative Nursing Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, symptom management, and pain control.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, social workers, and allied health professionals.
  • Support families through anticipatory grief, care planning, and end-of-life discussions.
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation and adhere to care protocols.
  • Educate caregivers on patient care and coping strategies.
  • Respond to urgent care needs with clinical judgment and sensitivity.
Requirements:
  • Fully Registered Nurse with the relevant nursing board.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in palliative or end-of-life care.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Palliative Care is an advantage.
  • Strong clinical assessment and symptom management skills.
  • Compassionate, calm, and patient-focused approach.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
