Licensing Specialist

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and skilled professional who can negotiate and execute licensing agreements with external companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, acquiring IP rights, and creating and managing licensing business documents.

Job Description

The Licensing Specialist will work closely with the team to acquire IP rights from external companies and source new business opportunities. They will also negotiate and execute new/renewable license agreements to comply with contractual requirements and maximize revenue opportunities.

The Specialist will create and manage licensing business documents, including contracts administration, rights management, product release calendars, and tracking of payment and royalties. They will also assist in the approval process of licensed products and marketing materials.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Diploma in any field
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Japanese, both written and oral
  • JLPT N1 or experience with using Japanese language in business settings preferred
  • Sensitive to cultural and linguistic nuances
  • Excellent schedule management and multi-tasking skills
  • Adept at working independently and in a team
  • Effective decision-making skills, strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous and attentive to detail
