Job Description:
The Culinary Instructor will be part of a comprehensive Food and Beverage training facility with specialized culinary training facilities. The Instructor will facilitate student learning in best practice culinary skills and knowledge, provide feedback and consultative input in curriculum design and assessment, prepare lesson plans, conduct fair and unbiased student assessments, manage kitchen operations, and participate in new recipe and menu development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate student learning in best practice culinary skills and knowledge
- Provide feedback and consultative input in curriculum design and assessment
- Prepare, review, and improve lesson plans and instructor manuals
- Conduct fair and unbiased student assessments
- Manage the day-to-day running of baking and pastry production areas
- Ensure all assets are operational ready for daily kitchen operations
- Participate in new recipe and menu development
Requirements:
- Qualifications in Baking and Pastry or related field
- At least 8 years of industry experience
- Knowledge of Food and Beverage Operations and Management
- Operational and production skills in culinary and food service with specialization in Baking and Pastry
- Knowledge of food and industrial safety and sanitation best practices
- Ability to facilitate student learning using best practice educational methodologies
- Knowledge of computer software applications pertaining to course delivery
