Job Role: Support and Guidance Specialist

As a key member of our support team, you will play a vital role in driving change into the lives of vulnerable individuals and families. Your responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments, providing expert guidance and support, and facilitating access to essential resources and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engagement and Assessment
    • Develop professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
    • Conduct mentoring sessions for assigned clients, providing ongoing support and encouragement.
    • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and risk assessments for complex cases, referring to relevant agencies as necessary.
    • Collaborate with relevant agencies to co-manage complex cases.
  • Case Review and Documentation
    • Prepare detailed social reports and case recordings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Ensure timely updates to databases, maintaining accurate records.
    • Collect relevant documents from clients, supporting their individual needs.
    • Meet deadlines for report submission, prioritizing quality and detail.
    • Ensure files are prepared for audit, adhering to regulatory requirements.
    • Attend regular audits by funders, demonstrating compliance and accountability.
  • Goal Setting and Intervention Plans
    • Work closely with clients to set realistic goals during mentoring sessions, fostering positive outcomes.
    • Review progress against set goals, providing ongoing support and guidance.
    • Participate in case conferences as part of a multi-disciplinary team, sharing expertise and knowledge.
  • Supervision
    • Attend scheduled individual and group supervision sessions, seeking feedback and guidance.
    • Meet required supervision hours, prioritizing self-development and growth.
  • Other Organisational-related Matters
    • Attend events and training sessions organised for clients, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
    • Participate in activities and initiatives of our organisation, contributing to its overall success.
    • Support other services provided by our organisation, promoting a collaborative environment.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned, embracing opportunities for growth and development.

  • Report to Team Lead and Director of Support Services.

    • Knowledge and skills in case management and casework, supporting effective intervention and support.
    • Ability to conduct risk assessments and manage risks, ensuring safe and secure environments.
    • Good report writing skills, producing high-quality documentation and reports.
    • Self-motivated individual able to work independently, taking ownership and initiative.
  • Technical Competencies
    • Proficiency in IT Systems and Microsoft Office Suite, leveraging technology to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Education and Experience
    • Degree in Social Work or related field from accredited institution.
    • Accredited as Registered Social Worker or equivalent qualification.
    • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in similar sectors, demonstrating expertise and commitment.
