Underwriting Specialist

As an Underwriting Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and refining underwriting policies and procedures. You will conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to established underwriting guidelines.

  • Closely collaborate with reinsurers to develop and implement underwriting strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with underwriting decisions through the review of pending cases.

You will underwrite new applications for life, health, long-term care, and high net worth proposals. Additionally, you will countersign and provide guidance to underwriters, conduct underwriting training for distribution channels, and ensure department KPIs are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and taking appropriate steps to mitigate these risks;
  • Maintaining awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats, and implementing effective mitigation strategies; and
  • Highlighting any potential concerns/risks and proactively sharing best risk management practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of underwriting experience in HNW/New Business
