Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Lead Payment Regulation Specialist. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the payments landscape and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, with experience in business controls, operational risk, compliance, legal, audit, or similar functions. They will be responsible for assessing and disposing of regulatory changes accurately, efficiently, and timely.

The selected individual will also be responsible for reviewing and tracking new or amended regulations for their impact on the business and identifying gaps. They will conduct impact assessments and map legal obligations to business procedures and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with global Control Managers, Legal, and Compliance teams to assess and dispose of regulatory changes.
  • Review and track new or amended regulations for their impact on the business.
  • Conduct impact assessments and map legal obligations to business procedures and documentation.
  • Partner with colleagues to ensure consistency and quality of output.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify process efficiencies and implement them.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Economics.
  • 10+ years of experience in financial institutions in business controls, operational risk, compliance, legal, audit, or similar functions.
  • Knowledge of APAC financial services regulatory landscape, including key regulators and regulations.
  • Able to read and interpret legal and regulatory texts as a layperson.
  • Relevant experience/knowledge of financial products and services for Payments and financial regulations.
  • Excellent business judgment and organizational management skills, particularly under pressure.
  • Interpersonal skills to work across functional areas and internationally.
  • Able to motivate and gain consensus among peers and stakeholders.
