**The Opportunity:**
The Senior Ocean Logistics Specialist is integral to Flexport's vision of simplifying global trade for all stakeholders. Flexport connects a vast network of clients and suppliers worldwide, and this position requires collaboration across various functions. You will engage closely with forwarding partners, ocean carriers, and trucking providers, as well as diverse teams within the organization to achieve shared goals.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement an operational performance framework, processes, and tools to assess Ocean Partner effectiveness across different markets.
  • Utilize Flexport's allocation tools to strategically route cargo to ocean carrier contracts, ensuring optimal cost, transit time, and availability.
  • Oversee performance management of Flexport's freight forwarding, customs partners, and ocean carriers by leveraging global performance metrics, targets, dashboards, and reporting to enhance operational quality and consistency.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and mentor to partners; continuously identify gaps and devise solutions focused on standardizing processes for both Flexport's operations team and its partners.
  • Assess partner training requirements and design and implement training programs aimed at enhancing operational excellence.
  • Establish and refine operational performance and product adoption metrics that align with the company's business objectives, collaborating with Flexport Account Management, Global Operations, Operational Excellence, and Partners.
  • Prepare insightful presentations and analyses for the monthly and quarterly partner review processes.
  • Create enablement resources to facilitate seamless shipping operations in managed territories for internal teams.

**Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain management, project management, or consulting.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong commercial insight and business acumen, with the ability to provide in-depth analysis and strategic recommendations.
  • Visionary thinking combined with practical execution capabilities.
  • Proven experience in managing programs and initiatives from inception to completion.
  • Ability to identify mutually beneficial commercial and operational opportunities.
  • Proficiency in generating data-driven insights that guide decision-making and process enhancements.
  • Strong relationship-building skills on a global scale, adept at managing diverse stakeholders and influencing outcomes.
  • Analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail, while maintaining a broader perspective.
  • Willingness to challenge existing processes when necessary to drive improvements.
  • A commitment to compliance, ensuring adherence to regulations in a heavily regulated industry.
