Strategic Outreach Lead

This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with expertise in stakeholder engagement, outreach, and event leadership.

The Senior Manager will lead strategic engagement initiatives with schools, building relationships with local and international institutions.

In this capacity, you will plan and execute high-impact events such as Open House, Info Sessions, Computing Day, school visits, outreach workshops, and youth engagement programmes.

You will develop partnerships with secondary schools, junior colleges, polytechnics, and education stakeholders to increase the School of Computing's outreach and influence.

As a key member of the team, you will provide leadership in designing hands-on learning engagements showcasing the School of Computing's offerings to prospective students.

You will collaborate with faculty members, student volunteers, and external vendors to ensure successful event execution.

To measure the effectiveness and reach of engagement initiatives, you will design evaluation metrics.

You will also manage event budgets, timelines, logistics, and communications across teams and partners.

Additionally, you will oversee development and production of engagement materials, kits, publicity items, and digital content.

As a representative of the School of Computing, you will represent the institution at key engagements, education fairs, and community events.

You will support the Communications team in broader strategic planning, campaign development, and cross-functional outreach efforts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A recognised degree in Communications, Events Management, Education, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in stakeholder engagement, outreach, or event leadership, preferably in education or public sector.
  • A proven track record in managing large-scale events and educational programmes.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple stakeholders and timelines.
  • Willingness to work evenings or weekends during key events and outreach periods.
  • Experience working with schools, educators, and students is highly desirable.
  • Experience in photography or video production is a plus.
  • Proficient in tools such as Microsoft Office, Canva, Google Docs, is a plus.
