We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Assistant to join our team at the Asian School of the Environment (ASE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in collaboration with the Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with social science data collection, collation and analysis of carbon and climate policy data, and assisting with data management.

About the Project

The project 'A Blue Carbon Framework for Singapore's national climate change policy (BlueCarbonSG)' aims to develop a framework for blue carbon accounting in Singapore. The Research Assistant will work closely with a Research Fellow and project staff to ensure the requirements of the project work plan are met. Key responsibilities include conducting literature reviews of relevant articles and information, managing and analyzing ecological and socioeconomic datasets related to blue carbon science and policy in Singapore, and conducting field work to collect new data.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor degree (second upper) in Environmental Science, Geography, Social Sciences or other related fields. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will also have experience with data analysis software (e.g., R, Matlab, SPSS, Primer or Python) and data analysis techniques (e.g., ANOVA, PCA, Regression, MDNS). Experience with qualitative methods and analysis is a bonus.
