Job Title: Ship Repair Project Coordinator

About the Job

We are seeking an experienced project manager to lead our ship repair projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with experience in managing complex repair and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct ship repair, construction, and conversion projects.
  • Conduct and lead daily VSCC meetings on hot-works and incompatible jobs onboard to ensure safety of personnel and property are not endangered.
  • Meet repairs/refit schedules by planning, monitoring projects' critical path, cost control, and execution.
  • Develop good working relationships with customers and maintain teamwork showing high interest.
  • Solve daily conflicts at ground level by monitoring and coordinating sequential and incompatible jobs affecting master schedule.
  • Closely liaise with classification societies, ship owners, owner specialist engineers, vessel crew, and ship agents to ensure successful completion of the project meeting or exceeding customer's expectations.
  • Meet commercial/naval contractual commitments and quality of repaired ships.
  • Capture additional works and raise work lists and provide information to Commercial Department for more competitive pricing.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A degree/diploma in Naval Architecture/Marine/Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 to 7 years of experience in project management for ship repairs in similar capacity from marine/heavy industries.
  • Possess SRM Certificate.
  • Experience in chairing VSCC meetings will be advantageous.
  • Be able to make appropriate decisions and judgments, decisive, and take proper actions.
  • Be able to lead and manage ship repair, construction, and conversion projects independently.
  • Be willing to work late at times and possess leadership qualities.
  • Have proficiency in MS Office.
  • Be proficient in report writing.
