Instructional Specialist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced instructional specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be proactive, dynamic, and able to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.

Job Description:
  • The instructional specialist will provide support to teachers and students in the Elementary School by assisting with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment.
  • They will also be responsible for leading the coaching and development of sport within the co-curricular enrichment programme.
  • The specialist will implement Chinese cultural activities, enriching students' cultural understanding and enhancing language exposure for Bilingual Programme students.
Key Responsibilities:
  • The instructional specialist will assist teachers in ensuring the well-being and safety of students.
  • They will support teachers with the delivery of the curriculum and learning activities.
  • The specialist will be a role model for Lasallian Values and School Vision, Mission, Values, and the Virtues Programme.
  • They will introduce Chinese cultural activities and assist PE teachers in delivering lessons by incorporating Chinese elements.
Curriculum and Pedagogy:
  • The instructional specialist will provide specialist support and interventions for students individually or in small groups as directed by the supervising teacher or HOD.
  • They will liaise regularly with the supervising teacher or HOD regarding planning and teaching of identified groups or individual students.
  • The specialist will use 1:1 and small group support strategies, resources, and programmes.
Communication and Collaboration:
  • The instructional specialist will communicate effectively with teaching and administrative staff, Teaching Assistants, and students.
  • They will report any matters related to child safeguarding, Health and Safety, discipline, or personal concerns.
  • The specialist will work collaboratively with assigned teachers and other Teaching Assistants.
Requirements:
  • A minimum Bachelor Degree is required.
  • A minimum of three years of working with students in a school context is essential.
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese languages is necessary.
