Material Procurement Specialist

The Material Procurement Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of aluminium materials and consumables used in aluminium vessel construction. This includes sourcing marine-grade aluminium plates, profiles, and associated materials, ensuring compatibility with CNC nesting plans and cutting schedules.

  1. Source and procure marine-grade aluminium materials (e.g., 5083, 6061, 6082 alloys) for hull and superstructure fabrication.
  2. Maintain optimal stock levels of aluminium plates, flat bars, extrusions, and other CNC-cuttable materials to avoid production downtime.
  3. Liaise with engineering and production teams to verify material specifications and quantities required for CNC operations.
  4. Coordinate with external vendors or internal CNC machines to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  5. Analyse BOMs, technical drawings, and nesting plans to plan material purchases accurately and reduce waste.
  6. Negotiate with suppliers for favourable pricing and delivery terms.
