Key Role:

Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Coordinator

The M&E Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of projects by overseeing the installation and integration of Mechanical & Electrical services with architectural and structural works. This position requires strong technical knowledge of various building services, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ACMV.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate M&E works with consultants, subcontractors, and project teams to guarantee timely completion of projects.
  • Review and verify M&E drawings, specifications, and materials to identify discrepancies and resolve technical issues.
  • Monitor site progress, quality, and workmanship of M&E installations to ensure compliance with design specifications and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with authorities, consultants, and clients for approvals and inspections to facilitate project progression.
  • Ensure adherence to local codes, regulations, and safety standards by implementing effective risk management strategies.
  • Manage scheduling of M&E activities in sync with overall construction progress to avoid delays and conflicts.
  • Participate in project, site, and coordination meetings to address and resolve conflicts between architectural, structural, and M&E works.
  • Verify M&E subcontractors' claims, variations, and progress reports to maintain accurate records and prevent disputes.
  • Assist in testing, commissioning, and handover of M&E systems to ensure seamless operation and minimize downtime.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in M&E coordination within the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with local codes, regulations, and submission procedures is essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ACMV.
  • Proficiency in reviewing construction and M&E drawings, preferably with AutoCAD and BIM/Revit expertise.
  • Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills are vital for success in this role.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a dynamic project team.
  • Willingness to be stationed on-site and adapt to changing project requirements.
