Software Development Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a software developer. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in computer science, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

The successful applicant will play a key role in developing and deploying software systems that power our autonomous metal 3D printing factories. This is an exciting opportunity to build foundational systems for a new category of manufacturing technology where your code doesn't just run, it drives physical innovation.

Key responsibilities include architecting and developing software for production-scale metal 3D printing factories, integrating control algorithms into production software, improving and scaling out high-rate data acquisition, storage, and retrieval systems, and implementing processes for converting customer part geometries into machine print instructions.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering from an ABET-accredited university or college, internship or engineering club experience such as FSAE, Baja SAE, solar car, rocket club, robotics club, hackathons, or similar programming with C/C++.

Preferred qualifications include advanced degree (Master's, PhD) in computer science or computer engineering, experience interfacing with microcontrollers, FPGA, or GPU computing hardware, experience developing embedded or real-time software systems, experience writing software for industrial automation systems, rockets, spacecraft, robotics, or related hardware that operates with the physical world.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and iterating quickly, have strong communication skills and collaborate across disciplines, take ownership of tasks big and small, have a hands-on, problem-solving mindset, and demonstrate indicators of excellence and/or achieving success against adversity.

  • Develop and deploy software systems that power autonomous metal 3D printing factories
