Job Overview

Our organization seeks a Pharmaceutical Manager to lead the development and implementation of pharmaceutical strategies that drive quality, cost-effectiveness, and patient outcomes.

  • Manage expectations and collaborate with clinical pharmacists and physicians on sourcing alternative drugs when usual sources face supply issues.
  • Evaluate all drugs comprehensively, gathering input from key stakeholders (physicians, nurses, and/or clinical pharmacists), representing the institution as an evaluation committee member.
  • Optimize inventory levels to achieve optimal stock availability versus overstocking and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy inventory team on inventory management, supporting stock take activities, and reporting.
  • Participate in operational workgroups, quality improvement projects, and manage critical supplies and stocks.
  • Timely source and process purchase requests from users, ensuring on-time fulfillment to avoid impacting patient treatment plans.
  • Verify and submit requirements for national contracts, considering past usage and future disease treatment trends in alignment with MOH directives and international guidelines.
  • Achieve cost savings through group/cluster contracts and institution quotations/negotiations.
  • Manage controlled drugs effectively, distributing according to Misuse of Drug Acts requirements.
  • Ensure continuity of critical supplies or alternate products during exceptional periods.
  • Minimize the total value of goods written-off (Pharmacy Store and all pharmacy sections/substores).
  • Perform material/item code creation and updates, maintaining accurate records in PHI pharmacy systems (SAP & dispensing systems) on cost price, selling price, drug class, and drug subsidy status/type.
