Contract Administrator Job Description

About the role: This is a Contract Administration position that involves supporting contract administration, cost control and compliance in civil engineering projects. As part of the project team, you will work closely with engineers, quantity surveyors, and project managers to manage contractual issues.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts, subcontracts, and tender documents.
  • Review contract terms, conditions, and specifications for compliance with company policies and project requirements.
  • Draft variation orders, extension of time claims, and other contractual correspondences.
  • Prepare progress claims, interim payment applications, and final accounts.
  • Monitor project expenditure, budgets, and cash flow to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Work with Project Managers, Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors on contractual matters.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients on contractual issues.
  • Assist in dispute resolution, negotiations, and settlement of contractual claims.
  • Prepare reports and updates for senior management.
Requirements:
  • Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in contract administration, preferably in civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with standard forms of construction contracts (e.g., PSSCOC, SIA).
  • Strong knowledge of cost control, contract law, and tender processes.
  • Good communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines.
