**Conservation Specialist (Paintings)**

We are seeking an experienced painting conservator to join our team. You will be responsible for the conservation and preservation of easel paintings from a national collection.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments, documentation, and treatments on artworks and artefacts.
  • Manage exhibition projects as liaison officer, covering conservation-related and administrative aspects.
  • Contribute to the preservation and conservation knowledge of the collections through relevant analysis and tests.
  • Supervise and train subordinates and others as required.
  • Participate in outreach activities to promote awareness of conservation among various audience groups.

Requirements:

  • A master's degree in Conservation with specialisation in Easel Paintings from a recognised training institution.
  • Preferably 5 years' work experience as a full-time staff member.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive and complex treatments with high manual dexterity and aesthetic sensitivity.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to adapt to diverse cultural environments.
  • Possess initiative, multi-tasking, and organisational skills to meet deadlines.
