Occupational Therapist Job Opportunity

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our support team.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will be part of a team that directly supports the community.

About the Role

The successful candidate will conduct assessments of residents' functional capabilities and determine their potential for improvement.

You will develop and implement treatment plans to improve ADL skills, strength, and range of motion.

Additionally, you will prescribe and fabricate assisted/adaptive devices/splints to restore/increase function and train residents to use them.

Cognitive and perceptual re-training using sensory stimulation techniques will also be part of your responsibilities.

Lastly, you will evaluate the accessibility and environmental barriers within the nursing home and recommend modifications for greater independence.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognized Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy, AHPC registration required.
  • 2 - 5 years experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and other healthcare technology.
  • Meticulous, detailed in work and able to handle deadlines and stress.
