Job Overview

The Training Officer plays a pivotal role in empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to enhance their quality of life. This position involves teaching, training, supervising, and developing the skills of clients to enable them to function independently in various aspects.

  • Work Readiness Skills

Key responsibilities include formulating and implementing Individual Learning Programmes, conducting continuous assessment and evaluation of trainees' holistic development, and planning appropriate group activities.

The role also entails supporting Allied Health Professionals, monitoring and implementing programmes designed by them, communicating critical information to Centre Managers, and engaging in caregiver dialogue sessions and home visits.

To be successful, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, teamwork, leadership abilities, and a passion for working with people with intellectual disabilities. Computer literacy skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Special Education, Disability Studies, or related field
  • Minimum O-level certificate, NITEC Certificate in Community Care & Social Services (ITE), Certificate of Special Needs Education (MOE), Diploma of Special Education (MOE), Diploma in Disability Studies (SSI), or Diploma of Community Services (SSI)
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Computer literacy skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
