Job Title: Bioinformatics Expert

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Expert to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing innovative tools and workflows for assay development.

This is an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including bioinformatics scientists, molecular biologists, and product managers to drive project success.

  • You will work closely with the bioinformatics team to translate customer needs into software product requirements and build custom tools for automating routine tasks.
  • Your expertise in Python, Linux, R, and SQL will enable you to represent the bioinformatics team in internal projects and collaborate with colleagues from diverse functions.
  • You will support custom assay design requests in a timely manner and provide technical guidance on customer calls.
  • A key aspect of this role is providing bioinformatics training to colleagues and presenting regularly in team meetings.
Requirements:
  • You should hold a PhD in Computational Biology or a related field, with 1-2 years of relevant industry experience, or an M.S. in Computer Science or Bioinformatics with 3+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing customer-facing products and tools.
  • Strong background in designing targeted assays or genomics data analysis.
  • Proficiency with biological databases such as NCBI and UCSC.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas: Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Pharmacogenomics, and Multi-Omics Data Analysis.
  • Proven track record as a technical lead, with strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a dispersed team environment.
