Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, fostering strong relationships and ensuring open communication channels.
  • Provide regulatory compliance advice to stakeholders, focusing on the Banking Act and its applicable regulations.
  • Manage compliance risks and ensure adherence to regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Monitor new regulatory requirements and communicate them to relevant stakeholders and senior management.
  • Assist in addressing queries from regulators, auditors, and authorities, ensuring timely submissions.

Role Requirements

  • Hold a degree in Accountancy, Banking, Finance, Business, or Law, or a relevant professional qualification in financial services.
  • Have at least 10 years of experience in regulatory, compliance, or advisory roles in a financial institution, preferably at banks.
  • Prior experience working as a regulator is an asset.
  • Experience in dealing with audits and/or regulatory examinations is essential.
  • Have a sound understanding of the regulatory landscape and relevant laws and regulations, including the Banking Act and Payments Services Act.
  • Be a highly motivated, meticulous, proactive, and versatile team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Have excellent command of both spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese to communicate with our Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
