  • Bunker Fuel Supply Chain Specialist

Job Description: This role involves working with Korean Suppliers to source bunker fuel and maintaining business relationships with current and potential suppliers. The position requires a proactive mindset, commercial acumen, and strong negotiation skills to identify new customers, market the company, and sell bunker fuel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To identify prospective new customers and win new business through market research
  • To market the company to third-party customers
  • To sell bunker fuel for a range of third-party customers
  • To plan ideal bunkering ports for vessel voyages
  • Daily liaison with existing third-party customers
  • Maintenance and improvement of the Bunker Trading Platform
  • Risk management activities according to corporate tolerances such as mVar, Flat Price limit (Quantity), Stop Loss (USD), and Paper Tenor (Month)
  • Employ risk management and profit-optimizing strategies including Fixed Forward Price (FFP), Capped Supply Contract (CSC), Discounted Floating Price (DFP), Physical Collar Contract (PCC), etc.
  • Daily DER (daily exposure report) to capture exposure

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • An interest in the shipping market
  • A proactive mindset
  • Commercially driven
  • Able to work autonomously as well as in a team
  • Strong negotiation skills or a willingness to learn
  • Willingness to travel to meet suppliers
  • Able to build relationships at all levels
  • Native Koreans or non-native Koreans familiar with Korea culture and language are highly preferred due to working environment and liaising with Korean suppliers
