The role of a senior risk and control professional is to oversee the business control environment, ensuring that it aligns with the organization's risk appetite.

Job Description

As a key member of the Global Emerging Markets Asia team, you will be responsible for implementing non-financial risk frameworks and ensuring that they are aligned with the organization's overall risk strategy.

You will work closely with various stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, as well as develop and execute remediation plans to address any gaps in controls.

The role also involves tracking and executing audit portfolios, including liaison with audit teams, coordination of meetings, and preparation of audit findings.

You will manage the evolving GEM Asia book of work and priorities, providing timely updates to local and global management while driving transparency and consistency across the region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the business control environment and implementing non-financial risk frameworks.
  • Supporting the delivery of the GEM business strategy by participating in business initiatives to ensure they have necessary controls and governance.
  • Continuously working with the business to identify and understand risks and control gaps, developing and executing remediation plans.
  • Tracking and executing the Asia Audit Portfolio.
  • Managing the evolving GEM Asia book of work and priorities.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of experience in an investment bank, with exposure to front-to-back operational processes and controls for either Rates or FX asset classes.
  • Experience in non-financial risk, as well as defining controls and executing mitigation action plans when necessary.
  • Experience working directly with Front Office and 1st Line of Defense stakeholders within the context of non-financial risk management.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment for Investment Banks in Asia operating a cross-border business model.
  • Knowledge of market conduct controls including duties to customers, conflicts, market activities and benchmarks.
  • Understanding of trade & communication surveillance, UPTA controls and associated case management.
