Supply Chain Optimization Professional

We are seeking a Supply Chain Optimization professional to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for understanding supply chain dynamics, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and executing governance and controls.
- Demonstrate commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development in the supply chain.
- Understand supply chain bottlenecks, risks, and options, and translate them into commercial value by optimizing logistics processes.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence them effectively through effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Propose alternative controls or simplification opportunities when the current governance framework seems ineffective.
- Understand freight market dynamics in the region and synthesize market intelligence from the freight team into a clear view on the impact on scheduling activities.
- Proactively identify key value drivers and risks, and translate them into scheduling tactical plans that optimize for costs, throughput, and working capital.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- At least an honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, such as supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role, with strong academic qualifications and a demonstrable track record in the mining industry.
- A proven track record of working in rail/port/freight operations, with a deep understanding of supply-chain-optimization principles.
- An extensive knowledge of SAP and other supply chain management software systems.
- Excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in English both verbally and in writing.
