Job Title: Computational Biologist

This role is ideal for a skilled and experienced computational biologist to join our research team. As a computational biologist, you will be responsible for designing and executing experimental research required by the project.

You will work closely with the Principal Investigator to conceptualize new ideas and develop plans for independent research that can have a significant impact on the relevant field.

  • Design and execute experimental research
  • Write and review research papers, present research outcomes
  • Develop plans for independent research
  • Support external grant/protocol development, study design and management of research activities
  • Contribute to educational/instructional activities and project management
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students and research assistants
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in Computational Biology or Bioinformatics with relevant research experience and training
  • Knowledge of the scientific background relevant to the research area and laboratory experimental skills
  • A system-level understanding of human pathology and laboratory expertise in data integration and interpretation
  • A proven track record in the form of high-impact publications
  • Demonstrated capability of research independence progressively
  • Strong writing and critical thinking skills, as well as good communication and presentation skills
