Simulation Educator Role

The role of a simulation educator involves coordinating medical simulation education at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Medical Simulation. This position requires collaboration with various departments to integrate different types of medical simulation into existing healthcare curricula, develop new courses and educational initiatives, and evaluate all simulation-related sessions and programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and troubleshooting training and medical equipment
  • Providing administrative support for workshops, daily operations, and logistics
  • Developing and implementing educational scenarios in collaboration with faculty
  • Monitoring medical aspects of training scenarios and adjusting simulation equipment based on participants' actions

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Biomedical Engineering or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Organisational and time management skills to follow through workshops to completion
  • Physical ability to lift, move and set up simulation lab equipment
  • Able to work on some weekends to support workshops
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving and expanding environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior working experience in the healthcare simulation environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and human physiology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic knowledge of audio visual
