Remittance Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

  • This role involves processing remittances, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transaction Processing
    1. Verify and process remittance transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
    2. Ensure compliance with banking regulations and company policies.
    3. Handle remittance requests, including fund transfers, payments, and foreign currency exchanges.
    4. Process operational matters such as SWIFT Telegraphic transfer, system testing, and other ad-hoc duties as needed.
    5. Assist Relationship Managers (RM) to handle customer requirements.
  2. Customer Support
    1. Provide assistance to clients with inquiries related to remittance services.
    2. Offer support for any transaction disputes or errors and ensure prompt resolution.
  3. Compliance & Risk Management
    1. Ensure all remittance operations comply with local, regional, and international regulations.
    2. Monitor suspicious transactions and report any compliance issues to the relevant departments.
  4. System & Data Management
    1. Maintain accurate records of remittance transactions in banking systems.
    2. Work with IT teams to resolve system issues and ensure smooth remittance processing.
    3. Generate and analyze reports for management and regulatory purposes.
  5. Collaboration
    1. Work closely with other departments such as finance, compliance, and customer service to ensure seamless transaction processing.
    2. Liaise with correspondent banks, clearing agents, and other external entities as required.
  6. Training & Development
    1. Stay updated with the latest trends and regulations in remittance services.
    2. Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Possess at least a Diploma/ Higher Diploma in any field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in banking operations, particularly in remittance or payments processing.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin.
  • Knowledge of SWIFT message.
  • Awareness of risk controls, local and overseas market practices, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
