Senior Legal Counsel Job Summary

This senior legal counsel role is focused on providing expert legal advice and guidance to support the growth of a private banking business in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, reporting, and mitigating legal risks, as well as drafting and negotiating relevant contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide commercially sensible and pragmatic legal advice to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and related transaction documents.
  • Identify new legal developments that may affect business activities and advise teams accordingly.
  • Support local, regional, and global projects and initiatives.
  • Advise on complaint management, disputes, and internal investigations.
  • Lead external counsel engagement on transactions or projects in a cost-effective manner.
Requirements:
  • A qualified lawyer with 7-10 years' experience in private banking or credit lending.
  • Excellent technical legal skills and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Lateral thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle diverse issues.
