Overview
Our client, a global consultancy firm, is actively looking for a Senior Counsel based in Singapore responsible for legal matters across the South East Asia Region. This is a critical role in a fast-paced environment with significant responsibilities and frequent interaction with the firm’s regional leadership. It is a challenging and exciting opportunity to succeed in a varied in-house role with responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Relationships- Reporting to leadership of the firm's General Counsel Office
- Partnering with and supporting Regional business leadership
- Advising and assisting global stakeholders
- Business Unit Managing Directors and their teams
- A&M Human Resources, Finance and Operations teams
- Advise client-facing teams on negotiation of engagement letters and ancillary client related agreements in the context of local country requirements
- Advise and consult with management in relation to key risk management, conflict of interest and policy issues facing the business
- Assist with legal matters relating to the A&M corporate structure, which may include transactions to acquire or establish new geographies and business units
- Assist with compliance and regulatory matters
- Advise on partner and employment matters
- Manage litigation and document requests
- Assist with drafting and negotiation of other commercial contracts, including supplier agreements
- Manage the relationship with external legal advisers
- Report and escalate key matters to the leadership of the firm’s General Counsel Office
- You will likely have 5 or more post qualification experience, ideally combining time spent working in house and in leading private practice law firms.
- An understanding of the complex legal challenges inherent to professional services firms is desirable but not essential.
- This role will require a multi-cultural perspective - fluency in spoken and written business English is essential. The ability to practice in other relevant languages would be a material bonus.
