We are seeking an experienced and skilled Construction Professional to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of various physical tasks at construction sites, contributing to the successful completion of building projects.
This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities- Site Preparation: Clearing debris, digging trenches, and preparing the ground for construction.
- Material Handling: Loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials and equipment.
- Assisting Tradespeople: Working alongside carpenters, electricians, and plumbers to install components and fixtures.
- Operating Equipment: If qualified, operating machinery like bulldozers, cranes, and backhoes.
- Building and Dismantling Structures: Constructing scaffolding, bracing, and other temporary structures, as well as taking them down.
- Following Instructions: Reading blueprints and following instructions from supervisors or lead tradespeople.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and reporting hazards.
- General Labor: Performing tasks such as mixing concrete, measuring and cutting materials, and cleaning the site.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A relevant trade certification or post-secondary education would be considered an asset.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a related field. Experience with heavy equipment operation is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills are necessary to ensure effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Valid driver's license.
