Construction Expert Wanted

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented construction professional to manage costs, prepare tender documents, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in cost management, procurement, and project budgeting, with skills in cost estimation, contract administration, and value engineering.

The construction expert will play a critical role in ensuring the success of projects by managing costs, preparing accurate cost estimates, and analyzing project specifications and drawings to determine material, labor, and equipment costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
    • Develop and manage project budgets to ensure cost efficiency and financial control.
    • Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs.
    • Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine costs and optimize project expenses.
  • Tendering and Procurement:
    • Prepare and submit tender documents, including bills of quantities (BOQ) and pricing schedules.
    • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
    • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure best deals.
  • Cost Control and Monitoring:
    • Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to identify and address any variances.
    • Track and report on project expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
    • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and verify quantities.
  • Contract Administration:
    • Administer contracts, including variations, claims, and final accounts.
    • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
    • Resolve any disputes related to costs, payments, or contractual obligations.
  • Value Engineering:
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or performance.
    • Recommend alternative materials or methods to optimize project costs.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and project documentation.
    • Prepare regular progress reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Qualifications and Requirements:
    • Education:
      • Diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
    • Experience:
      • No experience required as a construction professional, preferably with some experience in the construction or manufacturing sectors.
    • Skills:
      • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
      • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
      • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
    • Attributes:
