Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Role Summary:

We seek a highly skilled mechanical engineer to lead the design and development of custom automation solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical design process, creating detailed designs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead Mechanical Design: Drive the mechanical design process by analyzing specifications and proposing comprehensive solutions, including structural concepts and automation mechanisms.
  • Prepare and Present Design Proposals: Compile professional presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint for internal reviews and client pitches; liaise with vendors for component selection and accurate costing.
  • Execute Project-Based Design: Deliver mechanical designs aligned with project scope, budget, and timeline, including creating 2D/3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs, while managing revisions efficiently.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, software, purchasing, and production teams to ensure integrated, feasible, and high-quality design solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support Continuous Improvement and R&D: Gather feedback from project teams, conduct post-project reviews, and contribute to R&D efforts by exploring innovative technologies and enhancing automation capabilities.
  • Standardization and Knowledge Management: Develop and implement mechanical design standards, maintain the ERX platform, and manage a centralized component and costing database for consistent and efficient project execution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering, with a minimum of five years' experience in custom automation design and implementation.
