Job Title:

Mechanical Solution Specialist


Roles & Responsibilities

The role will involve leading the mechanical engineering aspects of major data center projects across APAC, from planning to onsite delivery of diesel genset enclosure systems.

  • Collaborate with sales teams to define technical requirements during the tender phase.
  • Review customer specifications, tender documents, and finalize project documentation.
  • Prepare and define technical specs and scope of supply for equipment, aligning with suppliers and factories.
  • Coordinate with contractors/suppliers to obtain accurate and timely equipment quotations.
  • Determine mechanical requirements for walk-in genset enclosures, ensuring suitability for each project.
  • Design and prepare necessary mechanical drawings and documentation to meet customer requirements.
  • Perform calculations and select suitable equipment and suppliers for each system.
  • Utilize engineering tools, databases, and standards to support design and solution development.
  • Maintain updated product and solution engineering documentation.
  • Deliver technical presentations and training to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review and verify technical drawings (e.g. P&ID, datasheets) for compliance with specifications.
  • Finalize equipment details and collaborate with internal teams for procurement.
  • Raise purchase requests and follow up on supply chain for mechanical scope items.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical system issues during project execution, from packaging to site.
  • Contribute to design reviews and share lessons learned to improve future system performance.
  • Keep updated on market trends, product developments, and industry advancements.
  • Travel regionally when required for business or onsite project support.
  • Take on ad hoc tasks or special assignments as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in diesel generator or related industry, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of cooling, fuel, and ventilation systems in genset applications.
  • Able to perform mechanical system calculations and equipment sizing.
  • Capable of developing cost-effective, technically sound mechanical designs.
  • Knowledge of data centers, switchgear, and electrical protection is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regional business practices and cultures.
  • Strong team player with good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Willing to travel and flexible to meet project timelines.
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software.
