Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Category Manager to drive sales, gross profit, and income goals for assigned categories. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and industry developments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to grow market share and achieve sales targets
- Manage inventory levels to optimize product mix and reduce shrinkage
- Design and execute promotional plans to drive incremental sales
- Develop and implement placement and planogram strategies to improve category turnover
- Oversee the implementation of category strategies and private label product development
- Build strong relationships with business partners and stay informed of consumer, market, and industry trends
- Review market and industry trends to drive appeal of merchandise mix to target customers
- Develop and implement competitive pricing strategies to deliver value to customers
- Establish collaborative retailer/supplier relationships to maximize income/terms/discounts
- Manage and evaluate promotion effectiveness to achieve maximum profitability
- Diploma holder/university degree in business or marketing or related discipline
- Min. 4 – 6 years stretching experience in similar position preferably in the retail or FMCG sector
- Passionate in Commercial and good knowledge of Markets
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
- Energetic, creative, collaborative and highly adaptable
- Good and effective communication and negotiation skills
- Able to promote cross functional effectiveness
- Decision making oriented & able to quickly react to changing environment
