Job Description:

As a Biomedical Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Biomedical Engineering Manager in ensuring hospital operations run smoothly and that biomedical equipment is used safely.

The role involves overseeing daily operations, preparing comprehensive reports, staying updated with latest technical knowledge, and evaluating proposed biomedical equipment to ensure its safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.

You will also be responsible for monitoring quality assurance and risk management matters, providing specialist resources for investigating difficult technical problems, and offering coaching and technical guidance to staff on communication skills, issue resolution, and customer services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure safe use of biomedical equipment
  • Prepare comprehensive reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Stay updated with latest technical knowledge and best practices through educational opportunities and personal networks
  • Evaluate proposed biomedical equipment to ensure its safety, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Monitor quality assurance and risk management matters, ensuring high standards are maintained
  • Provide specialist resource for investigating difficult technical problems
  • Offer coaching and technical guidance to staff on communication skills, issue resolution, and customer services
Requirements:
  • Higher National ITE Certificate (Higher NITEC) in Engineering discipline or above
  • 2 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of hospital safety standards and regulatory guidelines
  • Technical expertise in preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance for medical devices
