The Project Engineer will be an integral part of the Technical team, tasked with delivering technical design and support throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborating closely with the Project Manager, the engineer will create system schematics that align with the specifications outlined in the project scope.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verify that the specified equipment is appropriate for the installation.
  • Develop system schematics encompassing audio, video, control, and power.
  • Create rack layouts.
  • Design metalwork components such as input plates and wall boxes.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure all specified requirements are met.
  • Communicate site requirements, including IT and FM dependencies.
  • Coordinate the production of M&E drawings with the CAD team.
  • Convey necessary system functionalities to the control system programmer.
  • Engage with third-party trades/subcontractors to facilitate seamless integration.
  • Test system racks to ensure compliance with requirements, identifying and rectifying faults before shipping.
  • Commission equipment to the highest standards on-site, including programming audio DSPs, configuring digital video systems, and setting up video conferencing systems.
  • Provide ongoing technical support throughout the project duration.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of AV & VC equipment from leading brands.
  • Current understanding of the AV marketplace, including products and trends.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects.
  • Solid understanding of IT and networking principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience with CAD/Visio for producing detailed schematics to company standards.
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks as necessary for equipment movement.
