High Temperature Hardware Designer

A high-temperature resistant and miniaturized payload hardware design job opening exists at our institution. We are seeking a skilled professional to design and prototype a compact system that can withstand extreme temperatures.
Key Responsibilities:- Design a mechanical housing that can operate under 250°C ambient conditions.
- Ensure the internal core temperature remains under 55°C during runtime.
- Select and integrate miniaturized components, including compute, battery, and sensors.
- Strip sensor casings and reassemble into a custom mount with thermal shielding.
- Perform heat simulation, thermal insulation, and shock-resistance design.
- Test the hardware in specified sites and environments.
- Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar field.
- Strong experience in heat-resistant enclosure design and miniaturized hardware integration.
- Familiarity with thermal simulation tools, such as ANSYS and SolidWorks.
- Experience with IP65/ IP67 standards, fanless computing, and embedded design.
- Knowledge of fire-fighting robot or harsh-environment robotic platforms is a plus.
The ideal candidate will have strong prototyping skills and be able to work independently. They should also be familiar with high-temp materials, mechanical CAD, and embedded platform integration.
